Millers, Jhana2013-05-202013-05-202013http://hdl.handle.net/10179/4487This thesis is an investigation into the place of art in a world dominated by money and the role art plays in affecting change. By adopting interventionist strategies and adhering to the subtlety of the small gesture it highlights the irrational way value is constructed in our global capitalist society. The thesis places particular emphasis on participatory and interactive modes of practice as tools for critique in the pursuit of alternative systems of power, control and agency. How we might shift the way we operate within the difficult framework of a market-driven public discourse is a question to which it repeatedly returns.enThe AuthorMoneyArt and moneyValue of artArt installationsFor the love of money : an exegesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Fine Arts at Massey University, Wellington, New ZealandThesisQ112900941https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q112900941
